Screenprint Projects

illustration and printing technique

When you mostly work on one type of screen, it’s very refreshing to occasionally work on a totally different type of screen!

Stencils

The “Summer Jams” and “Fabulous” prints were executed as two-part stencils. In both cases, the first stencil was hand-cut from acetate and taped to a screen, while the second stencil was hand-painted on a screen with filler.

Fabric

“Pie for Breakfast” and “Aerialist” were both printed on fabric. I printed “Pie” on dishtowels, and “Aerialist” is printed on t-shirts.

The inspiration for the aerialist print came from seeing similar prints sold online, but I disliked their stylistic choices, so decided to make my own, personalized version. The silhouette is traced from a still image taken from one of my own practice videos. The text is my handwriting. I also printed one text-only shirt.
